(Dan Tri) – German football legend Franz Beckenbauer passed away at the age of 78 on January 8 and he left behind great regret for the football world.

On his personal page, former British player Gary Lineker expressed his sadness: `One of the greatest players to ever appear in history. It’s a pity for his passing.`

Beckenbauer’s health has become much weaker since April 2023.
In addition, Beckenbauer has also had many health problems in the past few years, with two heart surgeries and an artificial hip implant.
Franz Beckenbauer won the World Cup as a player and coach, in 1974 and 1990 respectively, and won the World Cup runner-up position twice as a player in 1966 and 1970. He also won the Euro championship
