(Dan Tri) – Ford Everest continued to be the best seller in the D-class SUV segment in March, accounting for more than half of the market share in the first quarter.

The D-class SUV segment is of interest to car manufacturers, bringing many products to compete for market share.

After upgrading to the new generation in 2022, Ford Everest’s consumption has improved.

This success gradually makes Ford Everest an `easy to guess` name in the 2024 sales rankings. Statistics for the first quarter of this year show that this model accounts for 54% of the market share;

After the gloomy first two months of the year, Vietnam’s auto market had an upswing in March, mainly thanks to car manufacturers and dealers actively running promotions.

According to Dan Tri’s research, Everest does not have a promotion program in March, because the number of cars coming from Thailand is not much.

Under pressure from Everest, many car models in the segment have discounts or big promotions in April. Typically, the Hyundai Santa Fe model is offered a discount of 50-100 million VND depending on the version;

Meanwhile, Mazda CX-8 and Kia Sorento have their listed prices adjusted by Thaco, reducing VND 10 million and VND 15 million respectively in all versions.

Meanwhile, Ford Everest continues to have no promotions at the dealership in April. A sales consultant in Hanoi shared that the number of cars coming to his dealership was not much and all variants were quickly sold out.

Faced with this information, experts believe that the D-class SUV segment in Vietnam has begun to become `boring` similar to pickup trucks.

The success of the Ford Ranger and Everest shows that in the D-class SUV and pickup truck segments, not every car with a good price will attract customers.

Experts say that these two segments need a `new breeze` if they want to escape the current `boring` situation.
