(Dan Tri) – Widening the gap with rivals, the upgraded Grand i10 comes to Vietnam to maintain the competitiveness of one of Hyundai’s key products in the face of a series of new competition.

In the announcement of monthly sales results of Hyundai cars in April 2024, TC Motor – the official manufacturer, assembler and distributor of Hyundai-branded cars in Vietnam – confirmed that the Grand i10 `is in

With a 5-door configuration, the Grand i10 has a more sporty exterior, shown through a glossy black grille and an enlarged, sharper front bumper.

The LED taillight cluster is connected together by a slender reflective strip that covers the entire width of the rear of the vehicle.

The sedan variant is tuned more softly with a two-tier honeycomb grille.

Similar to the hatchback version, the Grand i10 sedan no longer has front fog lights, the halogen headlights have been upgraded from multi-reflector to lens type, with automatic on/off feature.

The charging port system in the front seats has been converted from USB-A to the more modern USB-C, while the footrest area has additional lighting.

The rest of the equipment list on the Grand i10 remains the same, featuring leather-wrapped seats and steering wheel, start button and smart key, and 8-inch touch screen that supports Apple CarPlay/connectivity.

In addition, we can expect TC Motor to equip 1-zone automatic air conditioning on the highest-end version instead of the mechanical type like the current car.

Regarding safety features, this small car in India is equipped with 4 airbags from the standard version and 6 airbags for the most advanced version.

ABS/EBD/BA brake support, hill start assist, electronic balance, reversing sensor and reversing camera will continue to be available on high-end versions.

In a positive direction, the tire pressure sensor system now displays detailed parameters of each wheel instead of just notification with light signals like on the previous `facelift` version.

Under the hood is still a 1.2L I4 gasoline engine with a capacity of 82 horsepower and 114Nm of torque, combined with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

By the end of 2023, Grand i10 is Hyundai’s 3rd highest sales product in the Vietnamese market with a total of 7,944 units delivered to customers, behind Accent (17,452 units) and Creta (10,719 units).

Entering the first 4 months of 2024, the segment picture does not seem to have changed much when Hyundai has sold 1,570 Grand i10 cars to Vietnamese customers, far ahead of Toyota with Wigo (787 cars) and Kia with Morning (246 cars).

However, in the context of consumers gradually favoring high-chassis cars of the same class such as Kia Sonet or Toyota Raize, as well as a number of sedans, B-class CUVs and small MPVs with prices increasingly approaching the segment.

Refreshing the product and applying a suitable pricing policy like the Stargazer X at this time is a necessary action if the Korean automaker wants to continue to maintain the competitiveness of the Grand i10.
