(Dan Tri) – The Polish Prime Minister warned that Europe is in the period before a war.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in an interview with European media on March 29 that Europe has entered the `pre-war period`, and the threat of conflict erupting is no longer present.

Mr. Tusk was asked whether war is an inevitable scenario as tensions between Russia and NATO have escalated dramatically recently.

`I don’t want to scare anyone, but war is no longer a thing of the past. It’s true and the reality is that it started more than two years ago,` Mr. Tusk said.

`I understand that it sounds dire, especially for the younger generation, but we must prepare ourselves for the arrival of a new era. We (Europe) are in the fore.

The Polish Prime Minister said that the West needs to do everything possible to provide Kiev with equipment and ammunition, because the world is in the most critical moment since the end of World War II.

`The next two years will decide everything,` Mr. Tusk said, warning that if the bloc does not provide enough weapons to Ukraine and Kiev is defeated, `no one in Europe can feel safe.`

In recent times, NATO officials have repeatedly warned about the risk of Russia launching attacks on members of the bloc.

Meanwhile, last week, Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of NATO’s military committee, said the alliance was preparing for a potential direct clash with Russia.

Admiral Bauer said NATO was aware of the change in the security situation in 2014, after Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula.

On the other hand, Moscow believes that NATO’s activities in Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region show that the alliance is preparing for a potential conflict with Russia.
