The Russian team may join AFC in the future.
Faced with that situation, the Russian Football Federation has filed a complaint against the decision of FIFA and UEFA to the Sports Court (CAS) against the ban of Russian football teams from participating in international tournaments.
Not only that, according to sources from Gol newspaper (Russia), the country’s Football Federation is considering joining the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
This isolation can last for many years.
That helps Russian football still participate in international tournaments.
Gol newspaper uses the case of Australia as an example of the conversion of the Football Federation to another continent.
However, this newspaper also commented that FIFA may cause difficulties.
The FIFA Council is the body that deals with this issue.
