Mr. Trump repeatedly affirmed that the US has outstanding capacity in performing Covid-19 tests and is qualified to reopen the economy.
The controversy over America’s testing capacity takes place in the context that some states in the US have begun to relax restrictions to partially open the economy despite warnings from experts.
Mr. Fauci hopes that the US will eventually reach that testing capacity as testing capacity is improving over time.
